Can I be hypnotized?

  • Most people think they aren’t. In fact, 95% of people are hypnotizable. You enter and exit trance naturally several times a day. It can happen when you are looking for your keys, listening to music, watching a movie or reading a book and notice you aren’t fully aware of your surroundings.

What is a state of trance?

  • Being in trance means existing in an altered state of mind. It’s a state in which one seems to have no conscious control over thoughts or actions, but where you can see, hear, respond and access the unconscious mind. The depth of the trance state varies from one person to another depending on individual motivation, the ability to let go and the context of the session.

Is it safe?

  • Yes. Hypnosis is considered to be a safe treatment when performed by a qualified and experienced practitioner. In rare cases, however, there may be unwanted side effects such as dizziness or a headache.

What is the difference from stage hypnosis?

  • Stage hypnosis suggestions are designed to cause a mere physical response of the hypnotized volunteers. These effects are removed at the end of the show and it does not affect the participant`s life in any other way. During a hypnotherapy session, suggestions are intended to create an internal response in order to establish a long-term behaviour change.

Can I loose control?

  • No. You have the ability to come out of trance at any time if you wish to do so. Your hypnotherapist can be described as a guide taking you on a journey. I am here to assist you in making these changes. Realizing that you are in control of creating changes within yourself can be very empowering.

Is it possible not to wake up?

  • No, everyone comes out of a trance state. During a hypnotherapy session your conscious mind remains aware throughout. You always wake up from the trance, you are either woken up by the therapist or wake up by yourself.

How many sessions will I need?

  • Perceptions, beliefs and inner programs vary for each person. Certain behaviours may hide deeper problems. Therefore it is not possible to know how many sessions will be needed in advance. Many people, however, experience success and progress after just one or two sessions.
